THE COMPANY

 

Enviroenergy Ltd is the operator of the Nottingham District Heating Scheme.  The Scheme is the largest and longest established Scheme in the UK, serving approximately 4,500 residential properties and 150 commercial properties with heat energy together with an extensive private wire electricity network.  Using the HP steam from the nearby EfW plant, the Company currently has an electrical generation capability of 14.4MWe and a thermal capacity of 80MWt.

The Company is seeking to recruit a Plant and Projects Manager, due to the retirement of the present incumbent.  The position is the ‘No 2’ Role within the Company. 

 

 

THE PLANT

 

The Role requires proven experience of steam turbine alternators and gas fired, high- pressure steam boiler systems, which are used for in-house standby and district heating top-up arrangements. It has responsibility for ensuring that the efficient use of energy, in its distribution within the scheme, meets the energy delivery requirements and maximises the efficient generation of electricity.

The Manager determines the operating parameters of the district heating network and has overall responsibility for the operation of the scheme, including the development and implementation of working practices and procedures to improve efficiency.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in the management ‘standby callout’ rota to deal with a range of problems which may occur.

A good knowledge of fluid systems and thermodynamics is desirable.

 

 

THE PROJECTS

 

This exciting aspect requires experience in the justification, development and management of a diversity of new and renewable energy Capital Projects, enabling key involvement in project development.  

 

 

ATTRIBUTES SOUGHT

 

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of strong, responsible, management and organisational attributes, having the ability to identify, prioritise and manage the Plant and the Projects in a timely manner. You should have excellent communication skills, with good IT, literacy and numeracy capabilities. The ability to supervise a multi-skilled workforce and ensure the effective performance of all team members is essential. The Manager is responsible for all Health and Safety matters.

 

Ideally, applicants should have experience in dealing with the reporting requirements of the EA, HSE, CHPQA, EUETS and OFGEM.  They should be ‘Environmental aware’ and have knowledge of documented management systems to ISO14001 and ISO9002.
